Maha Kumbh Day #3 – Many Shoes, Naga Babas and empty space

Again we walked the Kumbh in preperation for the group to arrive. Today we had Alok with us, who introduced us to some Sadhus. Walking was much easier than yesterday.

Also yesterday something very bad happend. Some people were stamped to death at the railway station in Allahabad. We are praying for all of those that lost their lives. We feel very save on the Kumbh itself – still we (and the group) will avoid the really intense crowd gatherings – you never know. We want everybody to be save.

Here are some impressions from Day 3:

Maha Kumbh day #2: Bathing, sunset walking and satsang

Today, February 10th, was one of the main bathing days. So we also took a ritual bath ourselves. It was a great experience to stand there in the middle of everything and enjoy the Ganges.

Later we took a walk to sector 4 to visit Vidya Das, a Sadhu from Hampi. He invited us to the guru camp. What happend there could not be captured in photographs and cannot be well described in words, but let’s call it “miracle” for now.

Here are some pictures of the day to give you a feeling of what it’s like to bath with millions of people.

Maha Kumbh Mela 2013 in Allahabad – First Impressions

Today early morning we arrived at the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. 2013 is an important date. Every 12 years there is a bog shift in the energy, celebrated with a Maha Kumbh Mela – and this is what is happening right now.

We are so happy to be here at this special place at that special time. And we are looking forwards to two groups, who will be joining us in this great experience.

Attached you find some of the pictures we took today, during our first walk through the Kumbh.

Maha Kumbh Mela begins….

I have been looking forward particularly to this Maha Kumbh Mela for more than eight years!

The Kumbh Mela takes place at different places in India alternately but of all places Allahabad is said to be especially sacred. Every 12 years only, the Kumbh Mela takes place there.

To be part of the Maha Kumbh Mela brings us to the very core of the soul. Concepts of spirituality turn upside down and give your soul the possibility to experience, to see wonders for example, to feel trance and to experience deep inner clarity.

And now… the Maha Kumbh Mela-described as the World’s biggest religious gathering- has begun at Allahabad with the Makar Sankranti festival.
